Big Bear Roots Foundation is building California’s first high altitude farm and education campus in Big Bear Lake. A community driven nonprofit growing food year round, teaching sustainable agriculture, and creating a zero waste future powered by innovation, technology, and local roots.
Back the Build: Final Phase 2025
The farm transition is complete. This is the final phase.
With the government shut down and USDA funds delayed until early next year, we are raising our own money to finish the Farm and Campus and make it fully operational before the end of the year.
We need 12,000 for essential equipment including racks, lighting, air systems, sensors, Rooty setup, and signage, and 25,000 total to complete the Farm and Campus this year.
Finishing this work allows us to start educational programs in December and open the doors for students and families.
